Having a little much-needed “vacation” at my parents’ place. The weather has been awesome for swimming so I’ve been getting tanner each day! I’m determined to get rid of all my ghostly white-ness by the end of the summer. My sister left for Shilo, Manitoba on Saturday to start her military training. She won’t be back home till August but I’m definitely looking forward to her stories about her summer in Shilo.

I’ve decided to go with a very plain layout to showcase my photographs more. There will be a photo in each post so it looks a lot nicer when the whole page is simple. The quotations above are random so they change each time you visit or refresh. I’ve been looking through different quotation websites and found several. If you have any good ones in mind, feel free to leave them in the comments! I’d love more.

My mother is doing much better now. She’s back to working and all. The tube has been taken out but she still needs surgery to remove the appendix which will be done this fall.

I just joined this genealogy website for my last name and it’s quite interesting to learn my family history. We actually originated in Normandy so I’m basically a viking. Haha. The first of my family to move to Canada was a marine, travelled to Canada around 1697, and decided to stay there. He was a shoemaker for a living. Nothing too exciting. But I did look up my last name in Wikipedia and found that one of my ancestors was the mayor of Sorel-Tracy, Quebec (where my dad was born and grew up) back in the 1800s. Neeeat.

*yawns* I’ve been getting up at 0630 everyday this week. Soooooo not used to it, I’ve been sleeping in till lunchtime for a long while now. My mom came back home from the hospital on Saturday but is still recovering so I’m making her meals for her. She has to take a pill with her meal at precisely 0730 hence why I’m getting up so early. She’s doing much better than she was when she was at the hospital. She still has to go back tomorrow for another CT scan to see if it’s still problematic, if it is, they’ll take out her appendix.

How do you guys like the layout? Quite hilarious! You can refresh and a different header will show. I’ve got 10 different ones. If you’re all “what the hell is that?” then obviously you haven’t seen one of the best movies ever. GO AND RENT Monty Python and the Holy Grail! Anyway, I’m not so sure about the background, it’s looking a little iffy. Any suggestions? I’ve also got two new things in the sidebar. The “She’s” are my tweets from Twitter. And at the end of the sidebar content is a spam counter. See how much spam has been killed since yesterday?! Thank the gods for that plugin.

This weekend, I’m finally going to move my stuff to Belleville only if I can get someone to help drive a van I’ll be renting. I’m pretty sure I will. Once I get all moved in, I’m going to head to the office at Loyalist College and fill in my application for this fall. Yeah, I know, it’s past the deadline but I checked online if the programs I’m interested in are still open and yes, they are! Weeee.

There are many reasons for you to get well. Your family loves and needs you, your family is worried about you……your family is totally unsupervised in your kitchen.

It all started when Mom got sick on Mother’s Day weekend. A week later and not feeling any better, she decided to go to the after-hours clinic and they diagnosed her with a bladder infection, wrote an prescription and sent her home. A few days later, she still wasn’t any better so my aunt took her to the ER. It was a five hour wait for her to finally see a doctor. They decided to do a CT scan and found that she had a burst appendix. But the good thing was that the infection was still in a sac, it hasn’t spread.

They kept her overnight and the next day, they put in a tube to drain out the infection. And if that didn’t go as planned, they’d have her appendix removed. Yesterday, she had another CT scan to see if it went well. Most of it has been drained out but there was still some left over so they will move the tube and drain the rest. Hopefully, that’s all they will need to do…

All this had put my moving to the apartment plans on hold. Hopefully not much more longer, I’m starting to get antsy. I just really want to get started on living there, get unpacked and all. It’s a cute apartment and the size’s pretty good, nice location. Still not going to reveal my roommate, I have a great post all planned for that so that’ll have to wait.
